Makò PPTP small textile lyricist from Prato

PPTP is the acronym for the independent editorial project: Piccolo Paroliere Tessile Pratese, a paper creation that freely draws inspiration from Parole in Fabbrica by Umberto Mannucci (1993). It is a self-published booklet that adheres to the lexical mapping of terms related to the textile world, but restructures their visual and graphic concept. One word has been selected for each letter of the alphabet, with a corresponding visual personality assigned. The purpose of this publication is playful, nostalgic, and provocative. It makes us play, evokes memories, but also invites reflection. Thirty years later, the textile terms used are still the same, as are the actions that are repeated and the crafts passed down in this sector. In light of the sustainability challenges that many fields have had to address for years, it is fair to ask whether contemporary industry is truly contemporary.
