DIOCESAN MUSEUMS OF PRATO

Museo dell’Opera del Duomo was founded in 1967, next to the Cathedral. It was expanded in 1976 to house the prestigious reliefs of the pulpit by Donatello and some works from the entire diocese. Other rooms were then added in the 1980s and 1990s, completing the exhibitions of the Diocesan Museum. The Museum’s collection includes masterpieces by the greatest artists of the Renaissance, as well as sacred vestments, chorales and ceramic remains from the Etruscan period.
