DIAMANTINA PALACIOUS
Diamantina Palacios uses textiles as a way of being in the world; she defines herself as a Textile Designer. After a long experience in textile restoration and design, she decided to create her own brand: Diamantina Palacios. She creates only unique pieces, and each one tells a story.

Her creativity stems from a careful observation of nature and its inhabitants, from visions gathered during her travels, from ongoing research, and from experimentation with different languages and techniques such as weaving, felting, resist printing, and embroidery.

Her textile artifacts for fashion and interior design are made using natural fibers and dyes, essential weaves, and at times more complex structures. Materials include short supply chain silk yarns and local wools from sheep, alpaca, and cashmere—all from Tuscany. She also uses plant-based fibers such as linen, cotton, and hemp. To create volume and make the pieces modular, she incorporates copper wire, which she also uses to craft a small collection of contemporary textile jewelry.

She has studied color since the beginning of her textile journey, and today she dyes with plants, prints, and manipulates color as a primary vehicle for emotions.

Each piece she designs and constructs is handcrafted, with the intent to give it uniqueness, character, and irreverence. She believes in added value, and her goal is to raise awareness about respect for nature by celebrating its beauty. She tries to tell the story of what surrounds her: the environment, the textures, the forms, the colors that translate into music, creating a sensory experience between her creations and the viewer that goes beyond the visual.

Her mission is: “To bring out the dreams hidden in drawers and see my ideas worn by people.”
