The exhibition at the Museo del Tessuto, “Walter Albini. The Talent, The Designer,” whose significance is affirmed by the patronage of the Italian National Chamber of Fashion, is complemented by a rich catalog published by Skira. The catalog, curated by Daniela Degl’Innocenti and Enrica Morini, includes contributions that explore the many facets of Albini’s figure. Alongside essays by the curators—Daniela Degl’Innocenti, textile historian and curator of the Museo del Tessuto, and Enrica Morini, fashion historian and professor at IULM University in Milan—the volume features contributions from Paolo Volontè, sociologist and associate professor at the Politecnico di Milano; Antonio Mancinelli, professional journalist and university lecturer; Margherita Rosina, textile historian and curator; Bianca Cappello, jewelry historian and exhibition curator; Samuele Magri, fashion historian and university lecturer; Lucia Miodini, head of the Media and Fashion Section at CSAC, University of Parma; Alberto Zanoletti, fashion and design journalist and Styling professor at Naba Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan and Rome; Elena Gipponi, researcher in Cinema, Photography, and Television at IULM University in Milan; and Valentina Garavaglia, theater and performance historian, full professor at IULM University in Milan. The volume concludes with a documentary appendix on the companies involved in the designer’s professional journey, curated by Michela Taloni, a historical researcher.
