The complex simplicity of Cristóbal Balenciaga’s art. A course to understand the complexity of haute couture tailoring cuts.

180.00

Cristóbal Balenciaga is often described as “the couturier of couturiers.” His apparent formal simplicity conceals a rigorous construction, composed of measured volumes, invisible cuts, and a sculptural relationship with the body. The seminar explores this complex simplicity by analysing the interior of the garment: from volume emerging through fabric and bias cut, to the back and necklines as fundamental points of elegance, through to the sleeve and shoulder, which become true supporting structures.

A journey for those who wish to refine their eye, truly understand construction, and rediscover in historic garments the insights that transformed fashion.

The course is designed for professionals working in the fields of art, fashion, and textiles—from art historians to fashion designers, including conservators and technicians—as well as for enthusiasts who wish to deepen their knowledge of European tailoring.
