The Tote Bag is 100% made in Prato and entirely handcrafted in the IlariaCreazioneCappelli workshop using regenerated fabrics and production leftovers from the Prato-based company Lanificio Mannelli.
Available in four color variations, it features long straps made from an elegant double cotton grosgrain ribbon matching the fabric. A visible label is stitched onto an orange grosgrain ribbon along the side seam. Inside, a grosgrain strap with a practical metal ring allows you to attach keys or thread a scarf. A long double cord with charming tulips made from recycled fabric hangs from the straps.
This bag was created for the Museo del Tessuto di Prato as part of a recycling initiative in collaboration with local textile companies. Simple yet chic, designed with the ethics of creative reuse, it offers a sustainable alternative to traditional handbags.
The artisan workshop ILARIA CREAZIONE CAPPELLI, a Tuscan Master Artisan in millinery, has been operating since 2005 with a strong commitment to sustainability. By preserving traditional craftsmanship and using artisanal methods and tools from ancient millinery techniques, it creates unique, made-to-order pieces, minimizing waste. Often, existing materials such as leather and tailoring offcuts, fabric samples, upholstery textiles, and repurposed elements like buckles and buttons from discontinued accessories and garments are used. This ongoing focus on material recovery and ethical work practices is rooted in a philosophy of recycling.
It is recommended to gently hand wash in cold water, do not machine wash, and avoid the dryer.
