Museo del Tessuto Online Shop - Design sostenibile, artigianato e partecipazione

DESIGN, CRAFTMANSHIP, SUSTAINIBILITY AND PARTICIPATION

The Museo del Tessuto Shop is a project dedicated to design, craftsmanship, sustainability, promotion of the territory. The creative communities involved include artisans, designers and small businesses – mainly local – who make sustainability their mission.

Created or selected for you, our products involve the use of natural, ‘circular’ materials to give them a second life, further qualifying the work of those involved in their production. The creation of these unique and artisanal pieces was often inspired by the collection of Museo del Tessuto. We have also involved some small Tuscan museums which, invited to experiment with the online shop tool, in turn selected artisans, designers and small businesses dedicated to sustainability in their local areas.

AN INNOVATIVE COLLABORATION PROJECT

The Museo del Tessuto Shop was created as part of the Horizon Europe – RECHARGE project: a three-year project that began at the end of 2022 and aims to stimulate research on the role of museums within their reference communities in the creation of shared value – economic and otherwise – through the collaborative development of new services.

Within the project, Museo del Tessuto’s objective was precisely to conceive and test innovative and collaborative practices to make museum e-commerce tools capable of generating widespread value with and for some professional communities, as well as for museum users. In fact, the Shop’s values and objectives were collaboratively identified by Museo del Tessuto, some Tuscan museums, artisans, designers and small businesses in special co-design sessions; the products proposed are the result of a long co-creation process together with them.
